Udang masak serai
15-20 prawns (medium size)
1 tomato
5 dried chillies - soak in hot waters
1 onion
2 garlics
1 lemongrass
1 buah keras - lupa plak what it`s called in english (this optional)
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
2 tbsp evaporated milk
3 tbsp coconut milk - optional, i always omit this.
sugar and salt to taste.
1 onion - cut round
1. Blend together till fine these ingredients ; dried chillies + onion + garlic + lemongrass + tomato + buah keras.
2. Heat 2 -3 tbsp oil and fry the blended ingredients till fragrant (kalau garing skit pun sedap gak), then add tomato ketchup and evaporated milk and stir.
3. Add prawns, cook for 3 mins, add evaporated milk and coconut milk.
4. Add sugar and salt to taste, add in the onion and cook till a bit thick and remove from heat. Ready to eat.
Can also add potatoes. I normally slice the potato and deep fry for a while and add the potato into the sauce before step 4.
